What alternatives are there when aches and pains strike.

This can very much depend on the severity of the pain, and where the pain occurs. If the pain is only a headache, toothache or a pain where you know the cause, such as a fall or graze, an ordinary pain killer will usually be enough. For toothache pain killers that contains Ibuprofen is probably the best choice, toothache can be accompanied by inflammation, Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory and will therefore help to reduce inflammation.  If pain continues then you should get medical advice, because the pain may be the result of a more chronic underlying medical problem. Pain is how your body tells you that something is wrong, don’t ignore the message if pain is persistant.

There are two types of pain, acute pain and chronic pain. Acute pain is usually a short term pain that recedes with no treatment, has no serious problems associated with it and usually requires nothing more than simple over the counter pain medication. Chronic pain though is much more serious, chronic pain usually persists and is likely to be associated with a more serious underlying disease or injury. It can often start from something as simple as a sprain or infection that persists and becomes more serious, or it can be caused by a developing disease or cancer. Chronic pain can persist for many months, or even many years. As well as a requirement to treat the main cause, pain medication that are stronger than normal pain medication is usually required.  Among the most used medications include tramadol, ultram and ultracet, with tramadol being the most popular. These pain medications are not scheduled as controlled substances, it is therefore possible to buy Tramadol online. In a lot of cases pain medication is prescribed along with seperate treatments to treat the cause of the problem.

Possibly the commonest type of pain we experience is a headache. A headache may well disappear without needing any other treatment, simple over the counter pain medication will normally be enough to ease the pain. Migraine is a much more severe form of headache and can be caused by several conditions. A migraine can be accompanied by several other conditions, such as changing moods, light sensitivity, one sided headaches and nausea or vomiting. A migraine may only last for a few hours, but might continue for a few days. Anyone experiencing a migraine should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

For pain associated with joints and muscles, physiotherapy is often used, and can in many cases result in the complete cure of the underlying problem. Electrical stimulation is a technique sometimes used, often as a last resort. Electrical stimulation works by interrupting pain signals in the spinal cord. Acupuncture may also be used to reduce pain, fine needles are entered at key points on the skin, the needles disrupt the flow of spasms. Needles may be used in areas removed from the source of the pain.

The main point to consider, is that if pain becomes serious, especially if it persists, seek medical attention without delay, it could be down to a more serious problem.

Get Rid of your pain naturally

Ever since the beginning of time, mankind has always looked for ways to treat pain either physically or psychologically. With the advance of medical science, we have seen the increase of factory manufactured products on the selves of our local pharmacies. Pain relief or management nowadays are a multi billion dollar business and would continue to increase many folds more especially with increased of complexity and stress of modern life.

However in recent years with the explosion of the Internet and information sharing, we have seen a change in the western world where once they would hold steadfastly to these pharmaceutical pain relief products but today they are more open to natural pain relief treatment and products. People in the East have always known the benefits of naturally produced pain relief products. From the roots and leaves of certain herbs and plants contain the secrect to many of our physical problems that we are facing today. Apart from these, other alternative methods such as aromatheraphy have also become popular in treating pain and it’s seen as a better option as it does not involved any oral medicine or drugs.

There are good reasons why more and more people are going for natural pain relief products and method. The chemically formulated pain medicines have unpredictable side effects which are the main reason why natural pain relief remedies are considered to be the better option by a lot people. Not only they are as effective as prescription medicines, but they also provide an almost instant relief when applied topically or administered to the body. Natural pain relief eg. Herbal remedies do not just mask the pain but remove or provide long term relief. The natives who lived in the rain forest know this and they have been using this for years. The Chinese are also known for their herbal products and remedies and it’s now been certified to be an alternative to western medicine.

Natural pain relief is type of remedy created out of all-natural ingredients. They are effective for both severe and chronic pain conditions. There are natural pain remedies that can be applied topically while others are meant to be taken on a regular basis. Although they are not regarded as direct drug substitute, they can truly help the people who are suffering from pains because the natural effects of these remedies are received well by the body. The components of natural remedy for pain are ingredients derived from herbs and natural medicinal substances. For topical pain relief, menthol and Aloe Vera are usually the primarily ingredient. Menthol has been widely used in both Chinese and Indian traditional medicines as an active pain reliever. When applied on the problem areas, menthol works on the skin’s nerve endings to provide an almost immediate healing effect.

Another well known herb is Aloe vera which can be easily grown in your backyard. Aloevera has many wonderful benefits such as reducing pain, inflammation and quicken the healing of cuts and bruises. For headache relief, it’s widely believed that colts foot leaves can do the trick. The colts foot leaves are boiled in water and sweetened with syrup made from sugar and water. This is then taken orally and it’s also proved to be useful to cure coughs, colds and giddiness apart from headaches. For prevention of headaches especially for those suffering from chronic headaches involves distilling a mixture of vervain, betony and wormwood and then washing your head with it several times a week. Another common problem face by many people is backache. An old remedy for backache involves making a poultice from hot aniseed and nettle leaves and applying it to the painful area of the back or you could just massage your back with comfrey oil. For heartburn, a suggested cure consist of mixture made from ginger, quasi, sal volatile and sulphate of soda. A teaspoon wheat charcoal and a spoonful of glycerin are believed to be beneficial in preventing heartburn.

Herbs are indeed a wonderful creation of God for mankind and it’s up to us to extract the many hidden healing powers that lie within those plants. It’s generally believed that over the centuries, we have only discovered less than 5 percent of the herbs and plants for medicine purpose. Therefore it’s crucial that mankind protects the natural resources that we have especially the ancient rain forest for benefits of our future generations especially people suffering from chronic physical pain.

Safe, Pain Relief with Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

Wall Street Journal article says “Top Pain Scientist Fabricated Data in Studies, Hospital Says”

“The anesthesiologist allegedly faked data in 21 studies on the use of various painkillers, including Vioxx”.

Pain is the most common symptom for which older adults, those aged 65 and older, visit their doctor. The older adult population is rapidly increasing as the baby boomers age.

In the United States, experts often consider pain a silent epidemic. An estimated 50 million Americans endure chronic pain caused by a disease, disorder or accident.  An additional 25 million people suffer acute pain resulting from surgery or accidents.

Loss of productivity due to pain continues to be a burden on companies and families. In a study done in 2000 it was reported that 36 million Americans missed work in the previous year due to pain and that 83 million indicated that pain affected their participation in various activities.1

From these statistics it is clear that pain and its treatment is a major problem confronting our modern culture. A survey done by the American Pain Society2 in 1999 revealed that more than 40% of people suffering moderate to severe pain were unable to find adequate pain relief.

Inadequate pain relief is one of the top reasons people experience a reduced quality of life.  Chronic and increasing anxiety is another of the top reasons quality of life diminishes. The medications for both of these commonly interrelated problems, are often toxic and can lead to unforseen complications and side-effects, even death.  Individuals on blood thinners can’t even take most medications for physical pain and are left with little or no option for their pain relief.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is a little-known, but highly effective, drug-free and non-invasive way to reduce or eliminate even chronic pain without the risk of medications.  TFT was discovered and developed by California clinical psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan.TFT combines the acupressure meridian system and modern psychology to work with nature’s healing system.

With the known risks of painkillers, the fraud appearing regularly in the studies of these painkillers, suggesting unknown risks, we need to help pain sufferers learn and use safer methods for managing pain.

3Researchers at Oxford University in the United Kingdom have found that the anxiety caused by the anticipation or experience of pain makes the perceived level of pain much worse.  This often leads to the addition of anxiety medications, which have their own set of risks and side-effects.  TFT effectively reduces or eliminates anticipatory anxiety in addition to reducing the pain.

Length of relief from pain, per occurrence, is also important to the sufferer.  In a 4study, TFT provided longer relief than that experienced from pain medications.  (a free copy of this study is available on www.TFTRX.com).

5Statistically significant results were obtained with all problems and symptoms treated with TFT in a study at Kaiser Behavioral Health Services.  These problems  included anxiety, depression, alcohol abuse, anger, anxiety due to medical condition, bereavement, and chronic pain along with others.

“When I observe a number of suffering patients who did not respond to our usual treatment modalities, suddenly get better after TFT treatments are given, I don’t need a double-blind controlled study to tell me the value of Callahan Techniques® TFT.”
James McKoy, MD, Chief, Pain Clinic, Chief, Rheumatology Service, Assistant Chief, Neuroscience Department

Pain relief can be one of the most important means for improving the quality of life for thousands of people.Individuals suffering from chronic diseases like fybromyalgia, cancer, heart disease or arthritis may use TFT with their medications to reduce the stress and anxiety and consequently enhance the effect of the medication.

Dr. Robert Pasahow Talks About Using Thought Field Therapy (TFT) to Treat Physical Pain

Doesn’t it make sense to use a natural, drug-free option for pain management and pain relief before spending any sum of money on medications with side-effects and risks.
